I’ve been going through my past few months’ blog posts and I noticed what my blog has become. It has been full of ads and events that it slightly felt like a stranger. When I started blogging, it was all about sharing personal styles, experiences and travels. But even though I still want to keep it that way, work and the events I had to cover started to take over. And although I kept true to my promise that I will not blog about something I don’t believe in, (Yes, this is true. I’ve turned down all future offers of a website that gave me a bad and difficult experience when I wasn’t blogging for them. I tried ordering from them as a regular person through their website and I had the worst customer service. I formally said goodbye to them and said I couldn’t blog and say nice things after what I had just experienced. They were nice, they understood and we parted ways.) there are still far too many other stores, brands and websites out there that are worth talking about. I’m not complaining, I’m happy to be working with brands I adore, believe in or at least see a potential in but it still feels different and distant from this blog’s humble beginnings. So, here I am back to where I really started: sharing personal style posts. :)
It’s been a month since I attended the E! Bloggers Ball, and I still couldn’t believe that I was invited to that very eventful night. First of all, I am no popular blogger. I’m barely even a speck in the Philippine blogging world so that invite really came in as a surprise, and it was a great honor to be a part of it. :) Since it was a blogger appreciation night, maybe it’s time for me to share a little about my blogging journey. I started over 7 years ago, when I was still in college, but I never really got to maintain it mainly because of school, which was my priority back then. After I graduated from college came the regular work that takes so much of my time. I remember going home at 10:00 PM or even 1:00 AM sometimes just because of all the workload. I know I’ve wasted a lot of opportunities and precious time during all those years, and I know there’s no way I can bring them back now. Maybe you’d say, nalampasan na ko ng panahon, but I’d like to be positive about it. Now let’s fast forward to 2015, when I was already stable at work and had more time to pursue things that make me happy. Mid-2015 I was contacted again for a product review and an event. I’d like to consider it as a sign and a wake up call that maybe there’s still something in it for me. And, it’s also timely that I was already at the point in my career wherein I can have a better hold of my work hours. From that day forward, I was already being invited to events and was receiving products for review from time to time. I enjoyed every single one of them, and I’m happy to have gone this far after a 6-year lie low period. I didn’t even think I’d get here after 6 years since bloggers usually get their break after only a year or 2 of blogging. Pero sabi nga nila, in God’s time. :) I think God couldn’t have chosen a more perfect time for me to start this new journey in my life. He knows I needed my education first, He knows I needed to learn how to survive a regular job, He knows I needed to wait quite some time to have a better appreciation of what I’m doing. I don’t have any complains and I wouldn’t have it any other way. :) Now, here I am being able to spend a night with some of the most popular bloggers/online influencers in the country. I met a lot of new friends and new acquaintances from that awesome night. :) The E! Bloggers Ball was a social event wherein bloggers got to meet other bloggers, share booth activities together, walk the red carpet and take a lot of photo opportunities. :D At Features & Shades' Booth, bloggers were only required to pose at their booth holding the "We Love FS Cosmetics" sign and we were already given lots of freebies! I will share the goodies to you guys on my future posts since there are so many of them. Ang saya! :) Thank you so much, Features & Shades for all our new beauty products. :) The night was also spent awarding those who have stood out in the blogosphere. :) Congratulations to all those who have won an E! Bloggers Ball trophy! They all deserved it, pero GOALZ ko na yun for next year! Hahaha! :) MUST TAKE ONE HOME!!!
