I'm not really the type of girl who pampers myself often with massages, scrubs, facials, hair spas, foot spas, manicures and pedicures, etc. It may not seem too obvious, but I'm really low maintenance. I go to the salon to get a haircut around once or twice a year. I've never done facials and body scrubs. And, I don't usually get my nails done outside because I can do it myself. Given the circumstances, you'd get an idea of how simple my life is so if you're gonna ask me what I think about my day in Ayumi, I'd describe it as HEAVENLY. I know it may sound a bit exaggerated but it did feel nice to spend half a day getting made up and being taken care of. First, I got my lash extensions done! Initially, I wanted to try their Ange Curl Lash Extensions because this service will not only lift your real lashes but they will also put lash extensions afterwards to make your lashes look fuller. It sounds very promising, right? :) Too bad I couldn't avail that because I lost too many lashes after my last lash extension, from a different salon, that there aren't much lashes left to lift. LOL. SAD. So, I got their 5D Lash Extensions instead. How is it different from regular lash extensions? They attach 5 lash strands to each of your lashes. It adds so much volume to your lashes that you'd have doll-like eyes afterwards. I wasn't very comfortable at first because it looks "too much" but I started to appreciate it after 2 weeks because even though some of my lash extensions have fallen off, my lashes still looks full and filled. I love the quality of their extensions too! They're not heavy and they feel like your real ones because they use mink lashes from Japan! :) P.S. My lash extensions survived snowboarding and the occasional strong winds in Japan. Next, I got my nails done! There isn't much to say about this because it felt like a regular trip to the nail salon. The only notable one about this experience is they use their own brand of ORGANIC nail polish. I asked how it's different from other polishes, they said their nail polish doesn't turn your nails yellow. Since my gel polish is still intact whilst writing this blog post, I still have to find out if it's true! Haha! As I've discussed with one my of friends, I think their gel polish service is cheaper compared to other nail salons. So if you're the type who prefers to apply gel nail polish, you might want to check them out. :) They also offer nail arts! :) Lastly, I got their teeth whitening service. One session lasts for about 20 minutes, but if you want to achieve brighter & whiter teeth, you might have to return for a few more sessions with them. :) Aside from their services, there are 2 other reasons why'd I'd visit Ayumi again. One is their super cozy interior that adds to the overall relaxing experience. The second is their super friendly, bubbly and funny staff. I prepared a book and some work materials before going there, in case there's a need for me to kill time due to dull moments. But, I didn't get bored at all because I chatted and joked around with them the whole time. :) I visited their branch in Quezon City, which is located at: Mezzanine, Victoria Towers, Timog Avenue corner Panay Avenue, Quezon City. Palmolive EXPERTIQUE was recently launched in Manila with the goal of helping people achieve a salon-beautiful hair in the comfort of their homes. Palmolive EXPERTIQUE is a full hair care regimen that’s infused with activated Kera-Ceramide Serum (KCS) to nourish hair from inside out. Keratin deposits protein back into the hair for added strength, smoothness and protection. Ceramides restores proper balance within the hair and provides a protextive barrier that shields the hair from damages. This line of Palmolive Hair Treatment is composed of the following products: Shampoo, Conditioner, Intensive Hair Mark, Beautifying Hair Oil and an Anti-Frizz Serum. So aside from your regular shampoo & conditioner, Palmolive created a line of hair treatments that you can use at home to maintain the healthiness of you hair. :) Their shampoo and conditioner comes in three variants: 1. Revitaliste - This penetrates and deeply nourishes hair fibers in order to enhance the hair’s vitality and natural movement. 2. Smoothique - It aligns tames, and adds control to frizzy and flyaway hair 3. Resiliente - It reconstructs and fortifies damaged and over-treated hair And the shampoo & conditioner is complemented by the following hair treatments: 1. Intensive Hair Mask - This hydrates and helps restore the strength and elasticity of dry and damaged hair. 2. Beautifying Hair Oil - This provides intense nutrition for enhanced shine and silkiness of hair. 3. Anti-Frizz Serum - Protects hair against frizz and flyaways :) I thought I needed Smoothique because my hair ain’t frizzy but it flies away to a different country. But during the launch, I got to take home a sample of Revitaliste instead. I’m not complaining because I really like how my hair turned out after a day of using the Revitaliste shampoo and conditioner and the Palmolive Anti-Frizz Serum.
I’m not sure if you’ll get the idea but the strands of my hair felt thicker and separated after it dried out thus, it looked fuller. Instead of my usual dull, straight and lifeless hair, my hair looked like it had more volume after using those 3 products. It also looked well-managed even though I didn’t use my curling iron that day because the tips of my hair already slightly curled naturally/magically. For more info, visit: Palmolive Expertique’s Facebook Page A 70-piece cosmetic collection of glitter and glow has landed on our shores at a time when shimmer and highlights are a big trend so I know you’re excited. :) Global European brand Inglot collaborated with Jennifer Lopez (because no one can represent the word glow better than J.Lo) to make the authentic JLo Glow accessible to women. With this, they came up with a capsule collection that’s filled with all of JLo’s go-to beauty products in her favorite colors. Basically, the collection can help you replicate the Jennifer Lopez makeup look. From powders to lipsticks to eyeshadows, bronzers, highlighters and even false eyelashes and nail lacquers; name it, the limited edition J.Lo collection probably has it. :) What I love the most about this collection is it’s full of neutral tones so you can use daily, anytime and anywhere. Yet, it’s not your regular earth colors because it’s made “extra” by the addition of shimmer/glitter on the eye shadows. [P.S. The mustard colored eye shadow is quite interesting. It’s my first time to encounter such color for an eye shadow.] The glitter shadow also gives a nice glow and character to your eyes. :) This collection also carries its own design of Jennifer Lopez Freedom Palettes which you can use to customize your own makeup palettes. I think the freedom system palette is the most unique feature of Inglot cosmetics. The approach is very practical since you can choose your favorite colors and put them all in one palette/case. By doing so, you won’t have to carry so much in your makeup kits. :) Inglot products are paraben-free, cruelty-free, and dermatologically tested. :) For more info, you can visit their website: INGLOT COSMETICS
or visit their Facebook Page: Inglot Cosmetics Philippines I’ve always wanted to keep my nails long because it’s prettier and it looks more feminine. But being a clumsy one, I usually end up breaking my nails so I just keep them short and clean most of the time. :) I discovered polygel nails recently, thanks to I Do Nails. It’s a nail extension that uses gel type material to create an illusion of an actual fingernail when it dries up. That’s how my polygel nails look like before they applied nail polish. They kinda look real nails, right? They feel like one too. Hahaha! But, they’re thicker so hopefully they they don’t break as quickly as the real ones. :) And here’s what they look after gel nail polish was applied. And ganda because it made my fingers look longer. :)
The only problem I encountered with the polygel nail is.. HAHAHAHA. Di ko maramdaman yung kamot ko!!! It’s not as sharp as your actual nails because it’s made of gel so your scratches won’t really feel like scratching. If a part of body feels itchy, you might need assistance from another sharper object to help you out. TRUE STORY. X__X Aside from that, the other problems I encountered are the typical problems I experience when I grow my nails long. Like… Taking off my contact lenses, picking up small items, having a hard time opening a can, feeling pain when my nails get caught up somewhere, etc. Haha! It’s so hard to be a girl. :D Belo Intensive Whitening Bar This is my least favorite of the bunch. I’ve already tried this before and it works just like most orange-colored whitening soaps. It states on the pack that it has extra moisture but I still need to put moisturizer on after doing the whole sin care routine because they leave my skin a little dry the next day. My face also feels a little bit itchy when I rub it through my face for a long time. :( Belo Intensive Whitening Micropeeling Toner This one’s a little painful when wiped through the skin, but the amount of dirt it removes (after I’ve just washed my face with facial wash) is amazing. Since I don’t normally use toners, I didn’t think that much dirt is still left on my face every night. So, this product will leave you with a super clean face at the end of the day and I love it. :) The pack also says that it’s a micropeeling toner which exfoliates with no visible peeling. Yup. It kinda worked that way. I noticed that some of the dark spots/marks on my forehead started to disappear when I started using this. :) Belo Intensive Whitening Face And Neck Cream I was expecting this to be sticky but it dries out faster than I thought. Since it has SPF 30, it’s something you can also apply on your face during the day to protect your skin from sun damage. Like the toner, this too is made of Kojic Acid and Tranexamic Acid. Kojic acid is popularly known as a whitening agent, but it’s my first time to encounter Tranexamic Acid. It says on the package that it inhibits inflammation and melanin formation, and it is more effective in removing stubborn dark spots that do not respond to other skin lightening ingredients. I guess this also helped in removing my the dark spots and pimple marks on my forehead. :) The down side of this product for me is... I was hoping to get miracle results after 3 weeks. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet the results I was hoping to get. LESSON: Wag magexpect para hindi madisappoint. HAHAHA! :)

Lipsticks can add so much character and color to a person’s face; that’s why I love it when brands carry a wide range of lipstick colors because it shows how much they care about the different types and personalities of women they cater. Personally, I prefer the natural look so I usually go for rosy browns, mauves, blush pinks and nudes. But, I also go for reds esp. when I’m going out at night. For some reason, red seems to exude confidence so that’s the lip color I choose whenever I feel like I need some added confidence for the day. Haha! :)
I’m so happy that Avon carries 20 gorgeous shades of perfectly matte lipsticks. It gave me so much options to the point wherein one of my “1st world problem” is which lipstick color should I wear for the day. On the video I posted, I shared some of my favorites from the 20 shades of lipstick from Avon’s Perfectly Matte Line. And since I mentioned earlier that I prefer the natural colors, most of my choices came from the 8 new Perfectly nude shades that they just added to their collection! :) Watch and enjoy the video guys! I slightly gave a review of the lipstick on my vlog as well so if you’re curious if it dries your lips… Panoorin niyo. Haha! :) The Avon True Perfectly Matter Lipstick line retails at Php 399.00 each and is available through any Avon representative or online at AvonShop.ph :) P.S. Ladies, remember that makeup can truly make you look good but confidence and a bright smile can take so much further than any cosmetic product can. I hope you all enjoy life and smile all the time! <3 I never attempted to colored my hair before because I’m scared. I’m scared of ruining my hair and drying it out. I’m also scared of possible allergies since I’ve heard stories of people getting allergies from hair dyes. :) But, as our president says: change is coming. Haha! So, here I am sharing my first hair color experience. Everything about this post is a first. It’s my first time to dye my hair, it’s my first time to use this brand. And, it my first time to color my hair at home. I chose HERBATINT as the hair dye to use for my first attempt because I heard it’s made of natural and organic ingredients so the chances of getting allergies might be smaller. And, my mom uses it too because it’s ammonia free! :)
I didn’t know what to expect since it’s my first time to color my hair but here are my thoughts: Herbatint’s hair dye is not as foul smelling as some of the other hair dyes I’ve gotten a sniff of, which is good because I usually hate the smell of dyes. The texture of the dye is gel-like but it’s also a bit oily when applied; I guess it’s slightly oily because the dye is made of organic herbal extracts. It’s quite difficult to remove (I’m not sure if that’s also the case for all hair dyes because it’s my first timeee.), I’ve rinsed it for about 8-10 minutes already but it still leaves a few traces of color on my fingers when I run them through my hair. For the past 2 days that I’ve had my hair color, my hair felt rough and heavy whenever it’s wet, but don’t fret! You might think you need to apply conditioner to soften it up but it returns to its normal state after you dry it up. :) Overall, the product is good and I didn’t get any allergies from it too. It’s a bit expensive thought compared to the other hair dyes because it’s priced at over Php1,000.00 at Healthy Options, but I guess thats’s the normal price you have to pay for choosing an all natural product. Hahaha! :) Now, here are the things your might want to consider when doing your hair dye at home: 1. If the color of your hair is dark, try getting a few shades lighter than the one you see on the box. Based on experience, I chose Herbatint’s 5N in Light Chestnut, which is already supposed to be “light” but the color is still not very evident on my hair because it came from a very dark color. I guess, it would only appear as light chestnut if your hair is already white/gray :) 2. Instead of doing it at home, look for a nearby parlor (the cheap ones), who would be willing to apply and rinse your purchased hair dye at a minimal cost. I was lucky that my mom’s already an expert at dying her own hair because she did mine. If I was left there to do by myself, I probably would have given up on it. Hahaha! It’s messy and hard. T___T In short, I’m not encouraging you to DIY. Hahaha! But, it the application doesn’t have to be expensive as well. There are a lot of small parlors that can apply it for you for only Php200. You might as well take that and save the time and the trouble of applying it yourself. 3. Make sure you check the brand’s reviews online or ask someone who has already tried it before purchasing just to make sure it’s safe to use. :) P.S. If you’re curious about the hair dye I used, it’s called HERBATINT and it’s made of 8 organic herbal extracts: Aloe Vera, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam), Betula Alba (White Birch), Cinchona Calisaya, Hamamelis Virginiana (White Hazel), Echinacea Angustifolia, Juglans Regia (Walnut) and Rheum Palmatun (Rhubarb). You can get them at any HEALTHY OPTIONSbranch. :) |
Hi, everyone! I made a page dedicated to beauty, skin care & cosmetics because I get more questions about it than fashion & styling. Haha! Now it will be easier for my readers to find my makeup related posts. :) Archives
