Tried 2 of the famous night markets in Taiwan: Shilin & Raohe :)
Between the two, I like Shilin better because it’s bigger and has more food choices. :) Some of my favorites at the Shilin Night Market are: Torched Cubed Beef with Cheese!!! YUM! Their dumplings there are good too. :) Black Pepper Buns (You can find this at Raohe as well) Hot Star Large Fried Chicken One of the thing that I wish I’ve tried but didn’t is the Quail Egg Takoyaki. HUHU. We already ordered so much food at Shilin so I decided to try the Quail Egg Takoyaki at a different night market. It turns out, they don’t offer the same variety of food in Raohe. Heartbreaking. :( My brother also wanted to try the Oyster Vermicelli Noodle at Shilin, but he was already full so we didn’t get that as well. I think this food is quite unique so make sure you try it! :) If you’ve seen some photos with the cute Cotton Candy Rubber Ducky, you can also find that at the Shilin Night Market. Raohe Night Market Fried Milk! It’s located at the far end of Raohe Night Market. :) Smoking Cookies - In terms of taste, there was really nothing special; its like eating a sugar glazed cheese puff. But, it was quite an experience. Hahahaha! Aside from those, there weren’t a lot of special food to try. There were actually more clothing stores around Raohe than food stalls so people who like to shop might enjoy this better. :)
