The bakeshop that has perfected the art of cake & dessert making. :) For instance, this Pistachio Roulade may seem like an ordinary cake roll when you see it.. BUT, wait until you get a bite and you’ll taste all the difference. :) At first glance I thought it would taste like mamon or regular chiffon cake, but when I took a bite the only word I could think of was “ang sarap” Hahaha! It was fluffy but still moist, creamy and tasty. The flavor was light yet evident, and the cake isn’t too sweet so you can enjoy it without feeling satiated. :) The cheesecake that can change your life! Haha! :) Chef Miko showed us a freshly baked one and it was jiggly! That means it’s very light on the inside; it’s not stiff like your usual cheesecakes. :) It was instantly one of our favorites when Phya and I tried it. It was super moist, very creamy yet it tastes very light. :) We were both full but we couldn’t stop eating. #DIEt The finished product of the Basque Burnt Cheesecake - with caramelized pecans on top or on the side! :D Yardstick’s Torched Butterscotch Iced Latte :) I actually ordered this because the presentation is quite instagrammable, but it tasted really good too. The taste of coffee is very much present but the butterscotch flavor turned it into a very enjoyable sweet drink. :) [I’m not a coffee drinker, so I prefer my coffee based drinks either sweet or light.] They said this drink is best paired with the Basque Burnt Cheesecake, but I think it can work with just about anything. Even the Pistachio Roulade was good with this! :) *** Photos below are already professionally taken so they’re not mine: I thought I’d give you guys a quick tour because the place is really nice. :) These are the cakes we tried during the event. From left to right: Pistachio Roulade - 17 Layer Valrhona Araguani 72% Ganache and Moist Chocolate Cake - Basque Burnt Cheesecake :) Everything’s so good! Even the chocolate cake was divine. It was rich, moist, very chocolatey but not too sweet! :) Here are some of the other desserts they’re offering at The Workshop :)
Chef Miko and Chef Kristine of the Workshop wanted to go beyond the usual cupcakes, brownies, and cakes to prove that Filipino talent is capable of so much more than your run-of-the-mill desserts. They offer a variety of unique treats and flavors such as Matcha Canele, Guava Cheese Tarts and artisinal Valrhona Chocolate Bars. :) You can find The Workshop inside Le Petit Souffle in SM Mega Fashion Hall.
