A new asian fusion restaurant in town located at the new Ayala Mall The 30th in Pasig. :) We were able to try a wide range of their food and drinks before my trip to Bora so I wasn’t able to blog about it as soon as I could. But, here’s a quick run through of all the items we tried during our visit. :) Appetizer Tom Yum Meatballs – Php 249.00 This is a very unique dish, and it really doesn’t taste like your regular meatballs. I can’t exactly describe what it tastes like, but it’s really flavorful and enjoyable to eat. This is Ralph’s favorite. I even gave him what’s left of mine after seeing how much he likes it. Haha! :) Yakitori The perfect “pulutan”, served in either Soy Baste or Teriyaki Sauce, for those who are going to stay in for their WIDE RANGE of drinks. :) P.S. They have WAGYU CUBES in their Yakitori menu and it looks divine. I HAVE TO TRY THAT NEXT TIME and it’s only Php175.00 per stick with about 4-5 Wagyu Cubes per stick. I wonder how it would taste like with their salted egg fried rice. Hmmm… :) MAINS Top Sirloin with Onion Compote – Php 515.00 The steak is tender and cooked perfectly. It is best eaten with the onion compote because the sweet and slightly tangy taste of the onion really adds flavor to the dish. I wish they could add more servings of the onion compote though in order for it to be proportionate to the generous steak serving. BLAKSA – Php 355.00 It was the first one I noticed on the menu because of its witty name. Haha! It’s a Black Laksa because it’s a combination of Laksa and Squid Ink. J I was really curious and interested to try it, but it is my least preferred dish. Personally, I like the strong creamy taste of coconut and chili on my laksa. This is more of a toned down version, probably because it has the squid ink and the two can’t overpower the taste of each other. It would be a nice dish to try since it’s very unique and instagram video worthy (the soup turns black-ish when your start stirring it), but it’s not the dish I’d be craving for. :) Twice-cooked Pork with Salted Egg Fried Rice – Php 475.00 WINNER! That salted egg fried rice is quite addicting; I couldn’t stop scooping for another serving. The blend was perfect; it was neither too salty nor too bland. You can taste both the rice and the flavor and texture of the salted egg. The twice-cooked pork is delicious too. It’s crispy with a slight sweet taste to it since it’s tossed in honey and garlic. The serving is big too! It’s actually good for 2 people (if you’re willing to share! Haha!) TOAST Pasta – Php 365.00 A linguine pasta in tomato laksa sauce; this is a fusion dish at its finest. I never imagined a dry laksa, but here it is. The flavor is not too strong but you can really taste the laksa and the kick of spices after every bite. We weren’t able to finish this anymore so I had it to-go, and after a day it still tastes as good! DESSERT Tapioca and Mango Trifle – Php 108.00 The serving is quite generous for its price, but I’m not complaining! This dessert is really good and very affordable too. It tastes like trifle mango graham with a lot of condensed milk. So good! So good! :) COCKTAILS PPB JULEP – Php 225.00 I wasn’t able to taste it when it was first served, but Ralph seems to like it. I was able to try it when it already watered down and I really like that it has the after taste of Pandan. If ever, this is the cocktail drink I would re-order when we visit Toast again out of the 4 cocktails we tried. :) SUMMER IN THE CITY – Php 188.00 This one really tastes like summer. Haha! It’s fresh and citrusy so it could have been a perfect drink for a hot summer day on the beach. Yun talaga yung feeling, guys. No wonder they named it like that! :) EAST MEETS WEST – Php 248.00 The most interesting drink of them all! It’s spicy and tangy and I’m not sure if the heat that goes down to my stomach is caused by the alcohol or the spices. It tasted different and surprising at first because it’s really spicy, but I learned to enjoy it after a while. I think that was the drink that I held on to until the night ended. :) NUTTY EVENING – Php 275.00 I wasn’t able to try this one, but I’d like to try it on my next visit. The drink is Peanut Butter infused with Camus VS mixed with Honey, Frangelico, and Cacao brown. I bet this would taste like dessert, which I like. Hahaha! :) The rest of the alcohol choices are priced decently too (CHECK THE MENU BELOW)! It’s cheaper compared to other restaurants I’ve been to, so this could be a good hangout place for people who live or work in Ortigas / Mandaluyong. If you’ve seen the place, you would want to hang too because it’s cozy and homey. :) #Toast #ToastKitchenPH #ToastKitchen #Food #AsianFusion #AsianCuisine #Restaurant #NewRestaurant #AyalaMallThe30th #Drinks #Alcohol #Liquor #Dessert #menu #Nom #FoodReview #Blogger
