I was able to try Maybelline’s White Superfresh Powder first and I thought it was really nice. It became my everyday powder because it’s far cheaper than MAC, but I have a few issues with it so when I learned about Maybelline’s Clear Smooth ALL IN ONE Powder, I got curious about the difference between the two. The packing is very much the same except for the color and they are both cake powders, so how are they so different? My friend, Phya, who has been blogging about Maybelline products was kind enough to share her knowledge about the products, which I later tested and validated when I got to try them at home in order to make a more accurate review of the products. :) Maybelline White Superfresh Powder Pros: - It has a nice matte finish - It literally gives a super fresh look - It makes the face glow, which is really nice!!! Parang artistang naka-gluta :) - The powder is very compact so it’s not very powdery and dusty when you apply it. This is probably the closest one to my MAC Studio Fix Powder. :) And because it’s very compact, it doesn’t get used up easily too. Thus, 1 powder can last you a few months before you need to get yourself a refill. :) - It’s long lasting - It’s kinda waterproof. - I tried removing the powder with a wet tissue after applying it on my face and it’s nice and weird that the powder doesn’t seem to come off. There were only a few make up color on the tissue after I wiped it all over my face! [Their ad that this powder absorbs water is legit] - It has SPF 34! :) - I love the packaging. It’s white, fresh and clean. :) Cons: - It has a very white finish, which gives the fresh and glowing look, but could make the face appear whiter than the rest of your skin. So, I suggest getting a shade darker than your usual shade. - It makes the face look whiter than usual on flash photography (Yes, issue sakin yun. Hahaha!) I’m not sure if it still has the same effect when you get the darker shade, I have yet to find out. :D SRP: Php 299.00 Because of these cons, I got interested when I saw a quite similar one that does not have the word “White” in it. I thought maybe it would be more neutral and would blend on the skin better. And… YES! YES! YES! Maybelline Clear Smooth ALL IN ONE Powder is the one I’ve been waiting for! It’s my DUPE for MAC’s Studio Fix Powder. Finally, I found the perfect alternative to my ever favorite MAC Powder! And, it’s about 80% cheaper than MAC. Hahaha! :) Pros - It has a nice SMOOTH matte finish so it looks very natural. - It’s smoothness makes it blend better on the skin - It’s long lasting - It also gives a super fresh look - The powder is very compact so it’s not very powdery and dusty when you apply it. This is probably the closest one to my MAC Studio Fix Powder. :) And because it’s very compact, it doesn’t get used up easily too. Thus, 1 powder can last you a few months before you need to get yourself a refill. :) - The powder of this product is smoother compared to Maybelline’s White Superfresh powder, which is a bit coarse. - It has SPF 32! :) Cons - It does not give a glowing look - It’s not as waterproof as Maybelline’s White Superfresh Powder. - I tried wearing Maybelline’s Clear Smooth on the left half of my face and the Maybelline’s Superfresh White on the right half. When I removed the powder using wet tissues, it was able to remove more color from Maybelline’s Clear Smooth Powder. Maybelline’s White Superfresh seems to stick on the face quite better and is not easily removed by just water. :) - I prefer the simple white packaging. :( SRP: Php259.00 They also have a small compact version of the Clear Smooth ALL IN ONE Powder that's being sold at Php99.00 only! NOT BAD AT ALL. Perfect for small purses. :) I also love the fact that both of them can be refilled. It’s eco friendly and pocket friendly because you don’t have to throw away the whole decent pack, with mirror and all, when you use up the powder. And, getting a refill is cheaper and it comes with a sponge too! :) The refill’s package is nice too! I don’t mind bringing it around with me when I’m just using a small bag. This would be very useful l when you’re only brining a clutch to a formal event. :) SRP Clear Smooth ALL IN ONE Powder Refill: Php169.00 White Superfresh Powder Refill: Php199.00 Verdict: Maybelline Clear Smooth ALL IN ONE Powder > FS 2 Way Cake Maybelline White Superfresh > FS 2 Way Cake I’ve mentioned before that FS (Used to be Fanny Serrano) 2 Way Cake is a nice dupe for the MAC Studio Fix, but both Maybelline powders are far better in terms of performance, quality, packaging and price. :) Plus, the refill of Maybelline’s cake powders are cheaper and they already come with a sponge. :) FS refill is twice the price and it doesn’t have a free sponge. :( I’m still gonna use both depending on my mood, and the time of occasions I’m going to attend to. But, I’d probably use Maybelline Clear Smooth more often since it has a more natural finish. I’d use Maybelline White Superfresh when I have to be out the whole day and I need to keep myself looking fresh for a long time. This will also be my powder choice on beach trips or pool parties since it’s the one that absorbs water and could stay intact even after swimming. :) But, I’ll probably using the darker shade more often. I’ve tried it already and it appears white when it’s freshly applied but darkens after it settles on skin. :) I’ll still be using the MAC Studio Fix Powder, but I’m gonna save that now for special occasions. :) Hay, salamat! Makakatipid narin sa face powder. Ang hirap maging babae.
